The following description comes from the event organizer.
Cursed in Greek mythology to see the future but to never be believed, the tragic figure Cassandra was tormented by visions of calamity and the apathy of those she tried to warn. Today, her story is more relevant than ever, as we grapple with apocalyptic futures that threaten to overwhelm us.Taking inspiration from this moment, After Cassandra weaves together fragmented photographic visions that echo the original Cassandra myth while suggesting a cataclysm lingering just beyond the threshold of perception. In doing so, the project explores a myth and a moment when the apocalypse feels both intangible and close at hand.
After Cassandra opens 27th April and runs until 8th June, with opening reception on 27th April at 2pm.
