On his new solo project, Dan Boeckner (known mononymously by his last name) employs lush synths, noisy guitars, and gritty vocals that pull inspiration from his respective bands Wolf Parade, Operators, and Handsome Furs. He said of his solo debut: “Starting back when I was a teenager, my life in music has been trying to develop my own musical language, and this record is the beginning of presenting that.” He will swing by Music Millennium this weekend for a free in-store performance and signing. by Audrey Vann
