was closing at the end of March and that chef Aaron Adams was planning a new concept for the space that he promised would make devotees "cry tears of joy" once it was revealed. Well, that time has arrived—Adams has announced an upcoming plant-based, non-traditional Italian restaurant called Il Paffuto, which will employ seasonal and local ingredients and fermentation techniques to produce dishes like koji focaccia, sprouted grain pappardelle, and cultured cashew cheese ravioli. The restaurant's grand opening will take place on April 16.

the 10th best restaurant in America on Tuesday, writing, "Gregory Gourdet celebrates Haitian cuisine in bold, creative ways, marrying it with Pacific Northwest ingredients and live-fire cooking. Dishes like grilled salmon marinated in epis (a blend of garlic, peppers and herbs), crispy akra (a taro root fritter), and Gourdet’s take on Haitian spaghetti showcase the immense range of Haiti's culinary traditions."
The James Beard Foundation revealed the finalists for its 2024 awards on Wednesday, and many familiar Oregon names made the cut. The nominations include Sarah Minnick of Lovely's Fifty Fifty for Outstanding Chef; Langbaan for Outstanding Restaurant; Jinju Patisserie for Outstanding Bakery; Gregory Gourdet of Kann and Josh Dorcak of MÄS for Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific; and newcomer Hayward for Best New Restaurant.

Your April just got way more delicious: Members of ALIST Consulting, Baon Kainan, Magna Kusina, and Magna Kubo have come together to present the Portland area's inaugural Filipino Food Month, featuring a collaboration between over 26 small local businesses.
