Born in Congo and based in Montreal, musician, songwriter and DJ Pierre Kwenders is a storyteller at heart. Motivated by the intricacies of love, his songs weave tales from memories of the past, sketches of his hometown, and thoughts about the future. With his third album, José Louis and the Paradox of Love (via Arts & Crafts), for which he received the prestigious Polairs Music Prize, Kwenders arrives at a new juncture - a moment of resonance, carefully wrapped in a tapestry free, articulated with respect for its diverse heritage, but revealing the inventive combination of its elements.
