A Berry, A Boot, A Building, A Blue Door: New Works by Mike Young
The following description comes from the event organizer.
If there was a catalog of all of the cornices in the world...all of the lizards, all of the slight shoes, all of the fruits and all of the furniture...all of the bits and the bobs...then Mike Young would press his face into each page and his arm would stretch out across a big piece of paper and he would start re-organizing them all into a new space.
In this new space we are invited to consider relationships and the proximities, the slivers of space and the smart shapes start to fit together in a kind of perfect puzzle. His accumulations tell fragmented stories and invent new taxonomies.
Young's pictorial works are something to behold. Close looking begets close looking. -Kristan Kennedy
