Even if you don't think you know who Rhiannon Giddens is, I bet you've inadvertently heard her play. For example, the folk music virtuoso lends her banjo and viola skills to Beyoncé's hit single “Texas Hold ’Em.” And, in line with Cowboy Carter, Giddens has dedicated her career to educating audiences about the banjo's African history and the foundational role that Black musicians played in the creation of American roots music. She will perform songs from her latest album, You're the One, which spans blues, jazz, Cajun, country, gospel, and rock. by Audrey Vann
