CAMA's long-awaited full-length concert at the esteemed Benaroya Hall will include performances by the Seattle Chinese Orchestra, with beloved Roger Nelson conducting, the Northwest Chinese Gu-Zheng Orchestra, the ever-popular Northwest Chinese Drum Ensemble and the US China Music Ensemble. The concert will spotlight a special arrangement of the Chinese classical masterpiece, The Butterfly Lovers' Concerto, written by Chen Gang and He Zhanhao and featuring renowned erhu soloist, Warren Chang. This internationally recognized concerto tells a tragic love story and is considered one of the most famous Chinese orchestral works written. Audiences will once again be immersed in the beauty and mesmerizing cultural blending that can result when time-honored Chinese instruments are mixed with complementary Western classical instruments.
