BECU ZooTunes
ZooTunes is a 40-plus-year summer tradition that brings big-name artists to the Woodland Park Zoo's bucolic North Meadow to raise money for the zoo's animal care, conservation programs, and education. This year's highlights include indie rock double-feature Built to Spill with Yo La Tengo, alt-rap phenoms the Roots, indie folk favorite Waxahatchee, and velvety-voiced jazz-pop gem Norah Jones. Plus, this is a kid-friendly event! One of my earliest memories is gnawing on a licorice rope while watching Aimee Mann perform at ZooTunes. If you’re attending without kids, lucky you—there will be two beer gardens and plenty of kettle corn.
