Massive Monkees is celebrating its 25th year with an action-packed event featuring some of the best dancers in the world!

If you know anything about hip-hop in Seattle, you’ve heard of the Massive Monkees crew.
Massive Monkees is a world-renowned hip-hop crew consisting of DJs, emcees and most notably, 20+ b-boys and b-girls. The crew began in the summer of 1999, when four teenage b-boys from two different groups came together in South Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. Shortly after, a wave of artist friends joined as well, helping to create a unique mixture of energy, creativity and charisma within the crew. This brilliant chemistry propelled MassiveMonkeesinto a long streak of winning local, national and international competitions, theatrical production, performances, and establishing their mark in their community by teaching new generations of dancers.

In 2004, the mayor of Seattle, Greg Nickels declared April 26th to be “Massive Monkees Day” - recognizing the crew’s first international battle win as well as their outreach with local youth. Each year since then, the Massive Monkees crew throws a big, all-ages “Massive Monkees Day” event in Seattle to share their love for hip-hop and breakin’ (“breakdance”) and celebrate with their community. “Massive Monkees Day” draws some of the top dancers across the globe who are eager to show off and compete at what many consider their favorite event to fly out to.

For the fourth year in a row, Massive Monkees is excited to partner with STG to present “Massive Monkees Day” at The Neptune Theater on Sunday, May 26th, 2024!

“Massive Monkees Day” 2024 will be jam-packed with some of the most prestigious and exciting competitions available in the world today! Competitors from Japan, Korea, Netherlands, France, Mexico are already confirmed!
