Paul Missal's animated, symbolic still life paintings and prints take center stage in this "intimate" exhibition, which celebrates the Yale-educated artist, PNCA professor, and Blackfish Gallery cofounder's fifty-plus-year career with a focus on his naturalistic works. The show's title, Nature Vive, is a play on words, inverting the traditional term nature morte (meaning dead nature, or still life) to meditate on the idea of a "living still life."
